Columbarium

Indian Hill Cemetery offers a lovely, granite columbarium that has a paved patio and separate parking area within a park-like, historic environment.

A columbarium (permanent granite structure built specifically for housing urns of cremation ashes) is available.

Cremation is an increasingly appealing final planning choice that many individuals and families are opting for. Currently, in New England, where we are probably more land-conscious than other regions (likely due, in part, to our Yankee thriftiness), over 50% of all burials are cremation ashes.

Cremation is considered advantageous for a number of reasons:

Reduces burial cost and fees, and can eliminate the need for a casket and some of the other aspects of a conventional funeral
It is faster and more convenient for many families; and...
It is more environmentally friendly in terms of land usage and immediacy of 'return to nature' goal.
